Construction Engineers has staff located in offices in Grand Forks, Devils Lake, Fargo, Mandan, Watford City, ND and Bemidji, MN.

Construction Engineers is seeking a Shop Technician or "Jack-of-All Trades" to work at our Grand Forks office. 

Core Duties:

  • Inspect, diagnosis, repair, and service a wide array of construction equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
  • Document and maintain information and reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Transport equipment, materials, and tools to project sites.
  • Perform building maintenance as needed.
  • Provide snow removal and lawn maintenance at the Grand Forks office.
  • Use of forklift, skid steer, telescopic/warehouse forklifts, scissor/boom lifts and other shop equipment.
  • Perform stick and wire feed welding with light fabrication as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 Safety

  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
  • Provide support to Field Project Manager/Site Superintendent to ensure equipment is used in a safe manner.

 Qualifications

  • Five years of experience and/or training in vehicle/construction equipment repair and maintenance or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Excellent knowledge of trucks and heavy equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Critical thinker and problem solver.
  • Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, take ownership of tasks, and exhibit a high level of initiative and follow-through.
  • Ability to function both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Possess a class A CDL license.
