The Fire Extinguisher Technician is responsible for performing scheduled or unscheduled maintenance and inspections on fire extinguishers and potentially hood systems 

Requirements:

  • Must possess within 30 days of hire: Inspection/ Trade License(s) or Certificate(s) of Registration for Fire Extinguishers
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Kitchen Hood Suppression experience a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and written
  • Valid driver’s license; in accordance with Company policy
  • Willing to pass a drug test and background check
  • Ability to work in a high stress and often dirty (dry chemical fire extinguisher agent, or inside manufacturing plants) environments
  • Able to complete documentation as necessary; proficient in the use of an iPad tablet
  • Capability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and the general public

Responsibilities:

  • Performance of daily, weekly, monthly and/or annual inspections and preventative maintenance services on various extinguisher or suppression systems
  • Repair, replace, fill and tag all fire extinguishers
  • Service and test
  • Complete electronic and/or hand written inspection reports Document time worked as well as all paperwork relating to assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Assist the scheduling and completion of assigned duties
  • Ability to work independently and use provided personal protective equipment
  • Maintain accountability and respect tools & vehicle provided by Viking
  • Meet responsibilities to the customer, fellow workers and Viking by arriving on the job on time, ready to work, every day.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers
  • Inventory and maintain organization of materials on the job site

Starting Salary will be based on experience

New to industry wage $42k - $52k
