Linen Technician
Shift: 1:30pm to 10pm
This position is located at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital - Candidates must be able to pass a drug and background check per hospital requirements.
Wages: $15.00
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
1.) Manage in-house inventory levels in each department: a.) Exchange carts. b.) Count all linen on the carts and bring them back up to the par level before delivering them c.) On incoming carts, ensure that the par levels are on the cart and take them to their distribution point.
2.) Floor carts: a.) Load inventory on carts to be distributed to the units; b.) Count all linen on unit carts and replace items to correct PAR levels
3.) Sign off on the unit cart checklist
4.) Record data utilizing the appropriate method (i.e., tablets, order sheets) a.) Interface professionally and effectively with people at the hospital; nurses, nurse managers, clinicians, Central Supply, Materials Manager, and the Environmental Service Department. b.) During the day with exchange carts: You will take full, clean carts to each floor and bring down the carts that were used the day before. c.) Return to the locations and make all the counts for the areas that don’t have their own carts, inventory them, fill the order and take them back up to the floor. d.) Fill up both carts and take them up there and re-stock to par level. During the day, without using exchange carts, you will build carts to take to units to replenish unit carts; e.) Count all linen on unit carts and replace items to the correct PAR levels f.) Record this data as mentioned above.
5.) Always maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the inventory room. This would include in some cases dust and wet moping the floors
6.) Handle all routine duties and special calls for linen
7.) Problems – running out of Linen – someone goes above usage, - contact Service Manager if linen supplies not sufficient in the inventory room.
8.) Converse with driver – see if there are any special needs. Spend considerable time with the account rep – collaborate on issues, inventory levels.
9.) Well represent our Company as well as the client’s Company – exhibiting sound values.
10.) Must be able to build and maintain solid professional relationships.
11.) Any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS •The ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without an accommodation. •Ability to accurately count and record data either by writing or computer input •Computer Skills •Accepting of new ideas •High School Education or GED WORKING CONDITIONS •Fast paced an •Walking, pulling, pushing, sorting, and lifting continuously. The following physical requirements are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position: •Frequent walking during working hours. •Frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds •Frequent reaching, bending, stooping and twisting •Frequent pushing of a cart that may weigh 500 pounds •Occasional sitting and working at a computer, or attending meetings •Frequent counting and sorting
