Kee Container Services has a position open for a Truck Tire Technician at its location in Detroit, MI.
Position Overview:
The Truck Tire Technician is responsible for all repairs and maintenance throughout our fleet. They will have the ability to diagnose and ensure the roadworthiness of the company-owned equipment in compliance with standards set by the Federal DOT. The mechanic position also completes and maintains repair and maintenance records on the trucks they service.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Follow proper guidelines for mounting and dismounting of tires (including inflation and deflation amounts);
- Install and remove mounted truck tires throughout the fleet;
- Repair truck tires and identify any non-repairable ones and discard of properly;
- Keep an accurate inventory of all tires in the yard;
- Follow preventive maintenance guidelines for tires;
- Identify worn and failed tires during visual inspection;
- Ability to drive and buck up the tractor-trailers;
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background, physical and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verification, criminal and motor vehicle record (MVR) search as well as continued verification throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards.
