What You Will Do

  • Builds strategic working relationships – Developing and using collaborative relationships both within and outside the organization to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals.
  • Manage, develop and train tax staff on tax projects and assesses performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Researches and stays current with existing and proposed tax policy changes. Advises management on how potential changes will impact Caddell’s current and future tax positions.
  • Communicates well organized oral or written summaries of technical positions.
  • Experience researching, reviewing and preparing returns for Sales and Use Tax in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversees collection and review of valid exemption certificates, maintains a database of active certificates, and manages the process to refresh certificates.
  • Oversees various payroll tax related activities including reviewing payroll items, quarterly returns, and reconciling and preparing annual returns, such as W-2s and 1099’s.
  • Assists in preparation of annual reports and other state compliance filings in new tax jurisdictions when appropriate.
  • Communicates with external CPA firm with preparation of annual compliance of Corporate returns.
  • Investigates and responds to tax authority notices and audits in a timely manner.
  • Supports continuous improvement in the department by reviewing, recommending and implementing better methods for existing processes.

What We Expect

Education / Experience - Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 8 or more years of relevant tax experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – CPA licensure is ideal. Strong Analytical skills with a working knowledge of current tax laws. Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural environment. Self-starter with excellent attention to detail. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, verifies own work to ensure quality work product. Experience with multiple software platforms, such as Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, SAGE, ERP systems, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
