Kia of Des Moines is seeking an Experienced Technician with excellent customer service skills and a thorough knowledge of various makes and models of vehicles so they can better assist our customers. Kia of Des Moines makes customer service a top priority so candidates must have an excellent customer service mentality, a positive and friendly attitude, and be a strong team player.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with the dealership
  • Test drive vehicles and testing components/systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc…)
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed
  • Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

 

Requirements:

  • Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience (preferred)
  • Certified General Motors Technician
  • ASE Certification (required)
  • B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply
  • Have a valid Iowa Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Will submit to a drug and background screening prior to employment
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
