The Director of Giving is responsible for increasing giving levels of existing donors and to engage new prospects, including residents, team members and corporate sponsors, from cultivation to stewardship, to support the strategic vision of the Lifespace Foundation.

A few details about the role:

  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned gifts through relationships with prospective donors, which includes residents, team members and corporate sponsors.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of 100-125 donors capable of 5-7 figure gifts. Develop new prospect relationships while engaging previous and current donors to encourage new or increased contributions. 
  • Plan and complete prospect engagement opportunities, present gift proposals and collateral which achieve both donor priorities and meet fundraising priorities.
  • Draft, prepare and present informational and inspirational presentations to communicate fundraising program data and initiatives.
  • Promote public awareness of the Lifespace Foundation and the communities its supports.
  • Manage communities’ Foundation Advisory Committees (FAC).
  • Lead the team member giving campaign.

And here's what you need to apply:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful development experience, preferably within a not-for-profit, senior living or healthcare organization.
  • Understanding of and ability to apply donor-centered philanthropy principles, including an ability to develop and sustain relationships with donors
  • Proven knowledge in the use and manipulation of the Raiser’s Edge software and/or donor database software
