The Vice President of Global IT Infrastructure will serve as a key member of the technology leadership team, providing progressive leadership and vision to support service to APi’s customers. This role will lead the infrastructure, service, and engineering teams.  The VP is responsible for developing and delivering a roadmap that enables sound infrastructure, innovating solutions that serve the business, and enabling smooth mergers and acquisitions.

Responsibilities:  

  • Lead the infrastructure, engineering, and service teams by building great leaders and developing talent
  • Direct plans for engineering, IT operations (network, cloud, hosting, and data centers) disaster recovery, service desk, infrastructure architecture, etc. to support our global business and cybersecurity initiatives
  • Lead IT infrastructure integration planning in support of mergers and acquisitions
  • Participate in IT strategy planning activities, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of infrastructure technology and systems and best practices as related to the needs of the business
  • Partner with IT leaders in locations across the globe to align infrastructure and operational direction
  • Establish metrics, key performance indicators and service level agreements to drive performance
  • Identify opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement
  • Provide infrastructure services vision, enable innovation, and seeks to leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with APi’s requirements and expectations
  • Analyze outsourcing / managed services options that aid APi Group in expanding scale and capability
  • Provide sound fiscal management and follow vendor management practices to improve delivery to the businesses
  • Develop and mentor the team to deliver the infrastructure technology management and execution capabilities of APi Group
  • Support technology delivery that is secure and reliable including disaster recovery
  • Champion and promote service improvements on an ongoing basis to continually improve quality and customer satisfaction with IT services
  • Provide oversight to outsourced service providers of agreed upon SLAs, agree on appropriate actions to maintain, and improve service levels
  • Ensure cohesive and comprehensive infrastructure services and availability from a global standpoint

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience. A degree in computer science, technology and / or management (or equivalent foundational work experience) within a world-class technology culture
  • Core competency in leading global IT infrastructure organizations: engineering, IT operations (network, cloud, hosting, and data centers), disaster recovery, service desk, infrastructure architecture, etc.
  • Experience delivering technical, service level and organizational change across a large technology organization, e.g., cloud adoption and data center consolidation
  • Experience managing outsourced vendors and other third parties
  • History of building trust and successfully engaging/communicating with the business
  • Familiar and experienced in leading infrastructure integration planning, and execution for the IT function
  • Ability to lead via influence vs. formal authority
  • Exceptional focus on client service excellence and customer experience via the use of technology
  • Demonstrated ability to operate successfully within a nimble environment
  • Past success within a resource-constrained environment, driving cost-effective strategies and running highly efficient operations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate directly and succinctly with the business
