SEATTLE REP is seeking a resourceful and highly talented part time Graphic Design Assistant to join the Marketing and Communications team.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Marketing & Communications department is responsible for achieving all subscription and single ticket revenue goals for the organization, and for all outward-facing patron communications. This position will play an important role in our team’s success.
The Graphic Design Assistant supports the production workflow of the Graphics team at Seattle Rep. The Assistant will work under the guidance of the Senior Designers on a range of print and digital projects. The scope of this work primarily includes updating and resizing digital assets, working closely with vendors, researching available merchandise, and ordering new materials and signage, as well as supporting general department and company-wide efforts.
Typical duties include:
Update and Resize Existing Artwork
- Using established templates and style guides, create email and social media graphics, advertisements, and other marketing materials
- Multi-task and juggle a variety of projects with different objectives, timelines, and creative
- Prepare files for print production and coordinate with print vendors
Complete General Graphic Production Tasks
- Archive and manage file systems
- Mask production photos to use in brand materials
- Set up lobby materials on-site
- Help where needed with general production tasks
Coordinate Ordering of Merchandise and Signage
- Research available products and present findings
- Work with vendors on orders, schedules, and quotes
- Collaborate on designs to produce items that best reflect Seattle Rep’s brand
- Ensure production stays on schedule
Ensure Adherence to Brand Guidelines
- Review communication pieces for brand consistency
- Answer graphics questions from and distribute graphics to other departments
Support department- and company-wide Graphic efforts
- Participate in brainstorming sessions
- Add constructively to the collaborative and collegial health of the organization
- Add actively and constructively to the EDI (equity, diversity & inclusion) work of the organization, including attend all-company trainings
- Engage with and strive to embody Seattle Rep’s mission, vision, and values in all aspects of work
Minimum qualifications
- Desire to grow in graphic design knowledge and ability
- Basic understanding of typography and layout
- Experience with Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
- Thorough knowledge of Mac and Windows-based computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to organize work and set appropriate priorities
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Commitment to or knowledge of racial equity and social justice
Desired qualifications
- Familiarity with file preparation for print production and digital assets
- Experience with Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro
