Job Description
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Bringing design concepts to life using AutoDesk and ArcGIS software to develop 3D models of grading plans, concrete structures, and conveyance appurtenances for dams, pump stations and water conveyance facilities.
- Utilizing publicly available and in-house acquired LiDAR and photogrammetric data to develop basemaps to support design. May include UAV (drone) piloting.
- Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of water resource, structural, geotechnical and environmental engineers to develop projects from idea through construction.
- Developing quantity take-offs to be utilized in construction cost estimating.
- Performing construction observation of earthwork and concrete structures.
- Completing hydraulic, geotechnical, and/or structural analyses and preparing calculation packets.
- Contributing to design reports and documenting engineering assessments.
Minimum Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience
- B.S. in Civil Engineering; M.S. is desirable
- E.I.T. is desirable, and ability to work towards professional registration
- Ability to successfully formulate and execute technical assignments with minimal oversight and direction; desire to acquire and apply new skills and techniques with application to project assignments
- Excellent computer skills with technical analysis software, CAD, MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint, and other computer applications, GIS experience strongly preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well alone and in a team atmosphere
- Self-motivated with good problem-solving skills and willing to respond to instruction
- Willing to travel on temporary assignments as necessary, including field assignments
- Valid driver’s license
