We are seeking an experienced benefits and payroll professional to join the Human Resources team at our corporate facility. This position primarily works out of the Burlington, Wisconsin office, yet is responsible for supporting the benefits programs, compliance reporting and payroll administration function for all classifications. The successful candidate will lead process improvement within these functions and is a member of the Human Resources team. The Benefits & Payroll Administrator will focus on efficient and effective strategic planning initiatives that will enable Lavelle Industries to offer a competitive benefits and compensation packages that support our aim to recruit and retain talented individuals. This is a highly visible position within the company, critical to the advancement and growth of Lavelle within our market segments.

Responsibilities

The Benefits & Payroll Administrator major roles and responsibilities include payroll and benefits plan administration, design recommendations and vendor management, as well as compliance reporting. Equally important is to manage benefit marketing initiatives to encourage smart consumer behavior from plan participants to promote cost savings across the health plan.

  • Oversight of weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing with the aim to reduce and eliminate errors to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Implement, review and ensure sustained improvement via the Payroll Audit process.
  • Development of Corporate Benefit Marketing strategy and benefit activities.
  • In partnership with Finance, Sr HR Generalist and the HR Manager, respond to all inquiries and compliance reporting requests from County, State and Federal Governmental agencies regarding human resources policies, benefits, employment, tax or other related matters.
  • Full process ownership of the planning, execution, audit and continuous improvement of annual benefit processes, such as Open Enrollment.
  • Annual Compensation Review Process Owner for all classifications; tactical request process owner.
  • Process owner for the onboarding of new vendor and system integration of electronic service providers that overlap with internal HRIS.
  • Responsible for the integrity and periodic audit of the Lavelle’s employee benefit’s database, holding our vendor’s accountable for system errors.
  • Plan Administration and vendor management for all benefit providers, with the exclusion of 401(k).
  • Annual benchmarking and policy reviewer for Vacation, Short-term Disability, Tuition Reimbursement, etc. and other benefits as offered by Lavelle.
  • Resolve employee issues with insurance providers on an as-needed basis; consulting with employees about eligibility and other issues as applicable.
  • Human Resources Department team metric support and KPI agenda facilitator.
  • Support Recruiting and other Human Resources functions as needed.
  • Appropriate and effective communications – written and oral.

Required Skills and Competencies     

  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, 2+ year in Benefits Administration and/or payroll processing preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Driven, self-learner with an eye for detail
  • Confident, autonomous self-starter. Comfortable performing multifunctional tasks while achieving desired results.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, responsible and positive, regardless of obstacles.

Physical Demands
