Job Summary

The GIS Intern will be working with staff from various departments within LPEA to perform tasks such as research, field verification, data entry and to support selected projects. This position will be performing tasks both in the office and in the field which requires a valid Driver’s License.  The Intern would gain valuable “Real World” experience during the Internship as well as exposure to GIS functions and software.

Essential Functions

  • Research documents to support GIS projects
  • Field verify LPEA facilities to improve the accuracy of the GIS data
  • Make data edits to selected GIS data sets
  • Support staff on selected projects

Qualifications 

  • Must be 18 years or older at time of application.
  • High School student or student currently enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or vocational program, working toward a degree or certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Current transcripts, progress reports, and/or student enrollment histories are required at time of application. 

Proof of student status for upcoming quarter is required prior to hire.  Acceptable documents include:  current registration/enrollment notice, or letter of intent from Registrar's office, or student enrollment history, or tuition payment confirmation or cancelled check.

Compensation

$18 per hour, temporary part-time w/ flexible hours
