Circle V Specialized provides hauling services for construction equipment, bridge beams and energy related companies in the oil, gas, coal, wind and nuclear industries. The company is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma and has a fleet of 13 trucks and several specially designed trailers.  Circle V Specialized has the ability to transport loads weighing up to 450,000 pounds. With the authority to haul in the contiguous United States and Canada, there is no limit to where we can go.

Position Overview

The Heavy Haul Driver position is responsible for safely driving and operating, loading and unloading cargo from trailers, and securing loads when necessary.  This position will haul a variety of equipment and cargo in varying lengths, height, and weight.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Drive on public roadways and construction sites in accordance with safe and prudent practice, DOT regulations, public safety laws, OSHA regulations, and the Company’s Safety Program.
  • Operate and deliver materials on assigned vehicles in a safe, legal, efficient, and professional manner without additional training.
  • Verify specification and order compliance for the materials delivered.
  • Operate assigned vehicle in accordance with the manufacturers' recommendations, Company policies and procedures, and safe practice.
  • Maintain DOT logbook and comply with all DOT requirements as necessary.
  • Use sound judgment in all driving and site conditions. Drive safely and carefully.  Comply with all traffic laws.  Adjust driving to the conditions.  Take all necessary precautions to protect assigned vehicle and other’s property.
  • Keep assigned trucks and equipment in a safe and proper mechanical condition, correctly maintained and clean inside and outside. Insure the proper servicing and maintenance of assigned vehicle. 
  • Other duties as assigned per supervisor.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or demonstrable equivalent.
  • Must possess a Class A CDL with double or triple endorsements.
  • Previous experience driving over the road with flat bed/open bed preferred.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to read, write, and accurately perform basic mathematical functions including adding, subtracting, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess knowledge of Company policies and procedures, including safety.
  • Must consistently produce and efficient, accurate work product.

Work Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years in age or older. 
  • Must pass post-offer employment drug testing, medical exams, and physical agilities testing.
  • Must pass D.O.T. required physical.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.

  • Must possess unrestricted mobility to twist, turn, bend, and lean in all directions, lookup, down and side to side without hesitation or discomfort.
  • Except for conventional corrective aids, must possess normal eyesight, depth of perception, field of vision, normal hearing, quick reaction time, unimpaired eye-hand coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Must possess the strength, mobility, agility, and balance to ascend access ladders and steps, and to maneuver on equipment and vehicles without assistance.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and carry 50 lbs multiple times per day.
  • Must enter and exit trucks multiple times throughout the day in a safe manner.
