OBJECTIVE: Connect soybean farmers to ISA programs, services and leadership opportunities and serve as a liaison for ISA with soybean farmers; priority on growing ISA farmer-member and Advocate (non-checkoff) membership and member engagement.

LOCATION: This position will work in USDA Crop Districts 3, 6, and 9 and reside within one of the three districts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for member outreach and strengthening relationships with soybean farmers in coordination with ISA staff (with a focus on eastern Iowa and ISA Districts 3, 6, and 9)
  • Assist in developing and implementing ISA membership growth plan to achieve annual goals as included in association’s strategic plan (includes both farmer-member and Advocate membership)
  • Conduct visits with soybean farmers at the farm gate, connecting them to resources from the Association
  • Coordinate ISA District Advisory Councils (DAC) in ISA Districts 3, 6, and 9 (eastern Iowa); position DACs as a resource to ISA and growth opportunity for farmer leaders
  • Surface and develop ISA leadership
  • Recruit candidates for the ISA Board of Directors and engaging the ISA nomination committee
  • Recruit farmers for participation in District Advisory Councils, Experience Class, CommonGround, Communications Squad, Research Center for Farming Innovation and other ISA priority programs
  • Support ISA programs and services through farmer recruitment, promotion; organize and conduct grassroots meetings
  • Surface ISA industry partners in coordination with I&E Sr. Director to aid the association in achieving annual non-checkoff income goals
  • Represent ISA at farmer-centric field days and trade shows
  • Track and input member engagement and assist in quarterly metrics reporting

TRAVEL

This position requires remote work and frequent travel, generally within the state. Regular travel to the ISA office in Ankeny required. Coordinators assigned an ISA vehicle to conduct responsibilities essential to the position.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Ability to work flexible schedules which includes some night and weekend work
  • Responsible to work independently while ensuring high levels of communication, across the board

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibility

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in Ag related field or membership program
