Field Superintendent 

The Service / Field Superintendent is responsible for the overall service department field team management. He/she will oversee and conduct scheduling, planning, expediting, inspection, quality control, and total delivery of the project according to established criteria. He/she will proactively coordinate material and equipment, communicate with Customers, and make sure that work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Service Superintendent will additionally perform small service work as necessary.

The hourly rate for this position is starts at $44.46/hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a weekly labor schedule and outlook to efficiently manage the field service team.
  • Track employee hours and crew mix rates for each project
  • Assure proper manpower is scheduled for each project to maximize productivity
  • Work directly with fitters and customers to achieve optimal safety and maximum efficiency on projects
  • Communicate with Management regarding changes in projects that may impact cost, schedule, or labor requirements
  • Review all drawings and assist/lead during field check stage of the project
  • Direct and coordinate activities of multiple projects
  • Provide summary of field and ‘lessons learned’ work for historical records and the improvement of procedures
  • Claim management and record keeping for the service department as well as help with new hires and training
  • Coordinate and assist with the service vehicle fleet.
  • Have a can-do attitude and willingness to help others.

Job Qualifications

  • Current standing in the UA Local 669 - Sprinkler Fitters
  • Five years plus of experience supervising construction projects
  • Broad working knowledge of the fire sprinkler construction industry
  • Ability to accurately read and visualize objects from blueprints with an eye for precise detail
  • Capacity to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people
  • Exceptional ability to problem-solve is required
  • A strong capability to motivate workers and communicate with them and other members of the construction team
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

Working Conditions

 Moderate standing, walking, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.  Work inside and outside, around moving objects and with vehicles and machinery with moving parts.
