County Highway Maintenance Shop Manager

The McCook County Highway Department is looking for a full-time Maintenance Shop Manager. The County Maintenance Shop Manager is responsible is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the County Highway Equipment.

As a County Maintenance Shop Manager, you will perform a variety of duties including:

• Performs initial equipment training of highway employees and performs preventative maintenance on equipment
• Coordinates outsourced repairs
• Maintains and updates accurate equipment maintenance and repair records
• Assists in the development of specifications for new vehicles and maintenance of equipment
• Basic ability to operate highway equipment
• Assures equipment is in proper and safe running order
• Follows safety standards
• Attends ongoing training and safety classes as required
• Performs in shop repairs as directed by the Highway Superintendent 

To be qualified for this position, you will need:

• Valid driver s license required
• Ability to obtain a Class A commercial driver s license (CDL) within 180 days of hire required
• Be available to report for work on short notice during emergencies and adverse weather conditions

We are looking for someone who has knowledge of:

• Trucks and highway equipment
• Basic computer and iPad operations
• Ability to read manuals and equipment specifications
• Repair, manuals, and proper use of repair equipment and tools
• Methods, materials, and techniques used to perform road maintenance activities
