Position Title:  BeWell Activities Program Coordinator

Department:  Programs

Reports to:  Chief Program Officer

Position Summary: As a key member of the Program Outreach team, the Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting efforts associated with delivering evidence-based and senior activities programming at sites throughout Calhoun and Barry counties.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Work with Chief Program Officer and Marketing/Outreach Coordinator to organize, plan and deliver BeWell Activities and Programs
  • Maintain certification for a variety of evidence-based programs at senior centers, community centers and other locations throughout program service area
  • Collaborate with Marketing/Outreach Coordinator and Chief Program Officer and designated community partners on all aspects of outreach and service delivery of BeWell Activities and Programs including evidenced-based programs, recreational and senior activities within the agency's service area
  • Develop and deliver an ongoing inventory of senior activities at Kool Family Community Center, Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center, Forks Senior Center, and at other locations as requested
  • Ensure satisfaction surveys and quality data is obtained for all programs
  • Keep accurate and complete records of activities and complete reports on time and in required format Support achievement of agency's missions and vision
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Essential Job Requirements

EDUCATION:  

High school diploma or GED required. Some college or specialized training acquired in the study of health and/or medical services, human services, social work, or similar program preferred.


EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in working with marketing, outreach, community resource navigation especially working with older adults
  • Community Health Work Certification required within one year of hire. Equivalent training and experience accepted.
  • Experience in serving a diverse population in urban rural environments with familiarity of resource networks preferred.
  • Licensed LPN, CMA, CNA desirable

  • High aptitude for public speaking, teaching, and coaching Ability to deliver group instruction with confidence and clarity
  • Ability to follow timelines and department performance standards Ability to prioritize work and respond to situations requiring multi-focus Strong organizational skills with an acute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable with a variety of technology and equipment used to support programming efforts Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards
  • Above average ability to make independent decisions and work with limited direction
  • Propensity for inquisitiveness, initiative, and a desire to respond to the needs of others


PREFERRED SKILLS:

MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. and software programs specific to the agency for data gathering.  Multi phone line knowledge.
    
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires staff to engage in exercise and movement in the delivery of programs for older adults. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to use stairs, lift boxes, assist with setting up displays both inside and outside, and engaging equipment and processes associated with a large bus.
