You will work closely with engineers and scientists, marketing staff, and other professionals to help us increase our success in existing markets and develop new markets. Utilizing superb writing and organizational skills, this hands-on leader will help steer and guide the activities of groups focused on the growth of targeted markets, clients, and practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position focuses on guiding teams of people around the firm and in multiple locations, on BDIs for markets, practice areas, and clients in collaboration with regional and centralized marketing professionals in Geosyntec. The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the performance of the following activities:
- Participate in the development of marketing and business development plans;
- Become in-house expert on the marketing attributes and needs of the assigned BDI including competition, drivers, and trends;
- Develop, organize, and maintain a resource database related to the assigned BDI;
- Research and support assessment of competitor activities, market intelligence, industry trends, and technological innovations;
- Provide leadership and support for developing, increasing, and maintaining brand awareness through coordination of the BDI’s participation in internal and external media;
- Manage and track the preparation of collateral materials;
- Oversee the integrity of the sales funnel for the BDI;
- Provide leadership and support in planning and implementing targeted marketing campaigns;
- Provide guidance and support to regional marketing staff in championing and facilitating clear, informed, and efficient Go/No Go decisions for proposals, industry participation, and other related marketing activities;
- Provide guidance and support to regional marketing staff and proposal technical teams in strategy sessions, capture plans, and win themes/strategies development for proposals and qualification statements;
- Perform Red Team reviews for select major proposal efforts from initial planning and Go/No Go decisions through delivery;
- Provide leadership and support for industry or professional association project awards nominations, including researching and tracking applicable opportunities, and developing submittal packages;
- Collaborate on the planning and execution of internal meetings and external conferences pertaining to the BDI;
- Create, promote, and manage related internal collaboration sites;
- Work closely with technical leaders to support the BDI group’s goals; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
- The BDI Marketing Manager should possess a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, journalism or related field with at least ten years of experience in the A/E/C industry for a multi-disciplinary, multi-location firm; or equivalent combination of experience and education or training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position. - Must have intermediate knowledge of the MS Office Products and will preferably have prior experience with a CRM software package. Must have ability to manage individual workload and the workload of others including ability efficiently and effectively to appropriately prioritize with little supervision. Familiarity with technical writing standards. (preferred)
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret marketing, technical, and other business documents. (required)
- Ability to respond effectively to difficult inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to write, edit, and quality-check materials targeted to internal and external audiences that is organized, clearly presented, and focused on the subject at hand. (required)
- Ability to communicate with internal and external clients on marketing and business development topics in a persuasive manner to convey marketing acumen.
- Ability to understand industry trends, communications, marketing, and strategic plans, with the goal of supporting business development and marketing initiatives.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to deal with multi-faceted complex interpersonal situations involving internal/external clients, and colleagues at all levels.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
