Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Corrosion Engineer  to join our team.

 

Position Type: Full-time

Location: Beaumont, TX area

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Industrial Site/Office

Travel Requirements: Regular site visits required, including climbing stairs and ladders.

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently makes sound decisions based on corrosion engineering knowledge and experience.
  • Serve as a member of cross-functional team to resolve equipment problems, investigate incidents, and improve reliability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to deliver engineering information at a high quality to all levels of the organization
  • Provides corrosion consulting to inspectors, engineers, management, and operators.
  • Provides consultation on materials selection, corrosion monitoring and control, remaining life assessment, and repair strategies.
  • Supports and updates plant corrosion/damage mechanism reviews as part of the PHA process, Metallurgical Reviews, and RBI plans. Acts as a technical resource in the development and 
    implementation of integrity operating windows as needed.
  • Should possess expert knowledge in damage mechanisms and the applicability of metals in diverse services.
  • Team player, working well across departments with different levels of the organization.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
  • Works with Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations via properly selection of materials of construction.
  • Develops and reviews technical specifications relating to materials and corrosion.
  • Mentor inspectors, engineers, and others in materials technologies such as materials selection, welding and fabrication, and corrosion control.
  • Works with other engineers to develop common tools, processes, and decision-making criteria for the best material selection.
  • Assist in root cause failure analysis on critical equipment failures.
  • Always present a professional image to clients and vendors and maintain a positive reputation of the company.
  • Must be able to review job/project packages inclusive of but not limited to isometric, arrangement, and P&ID drawings
  • Must be self-motivated and possess skills to identify and solve unusual problems.
  • Must be capable to make decisions and recommendations with minimal supervision.
  • Occasionally responds to emergency calls and works long associated hours, especially during turnaround events, occasionally on an unplanned basis.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 10+ years of experience, in-plant process industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate
  • Attention to detail

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience in Nitrogen-based fertilizer industry
