ABOUT THE POSITION

The Social Media Coordinator supports the needs and goals of the Marketing and Communications Department while promoting the mission and values of the organization and maintaining the voice of the Rep across all social media platforms. The Marketing and Communications Department serves all facets of the Theater. As such, the Social Media Coordinator must be highly approachable and enthusiastic about working closely with all other departments including Artistic, Marketing, Development, Patron Services, Front of House, Education, and Production.

Essential Functions:

  • Write, develop graphics for, and publish daily content on all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok
  • Monitor all platforms and interact with and respond to patrons as necessary in a timely manner (including before and after work hours, and on weekends and holidays, as necessary)
  • Schedule and coordinate interview and artist requests with Artistic and Production
  • Facilitate and schedule influencer, ambassador, and partnership campaigns
  • Develop graphics and video requests with the Creative Director, telling not only the story of individual productions, but of the Rep’s arts engagement and community-based programs
  • Maintain the social media calendar for all platforms and collaborate with all departments to schedule their social media needs
  • Assist the Digital Director to build TikTok content
  • Copywrite for all social media, blogs, captions, and hashtag strategies
  • Research relevant topical themes to support diverse, equitable, and inclusive messaging
  • Assist in coordinating interviews and social content with podcasts, press, and special engagements
  • Research and stay up-to-date on current trends and new social media platforms

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • BA (or equivalent experience) in Communications and/or Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations
    • 2-3+ years experience in social media and PR
    • Excellent verbal and written skills
    • Copywriting and SEO knowledge
    • Content management experience and strong organizational skills
    • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and diplomacy skills
    • Social media proficiency and working knowledge of Photoshop preferred
    • Enthusiastic, motivated, and forward thinking
    • Creative and innovative
    • Flexible team player
    • Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects
    • Deadline-oriented with multi-tasking capabilities
    • Ability to work a flexible off-hours schedule when needed
    • Photography and video editing skills a plus
    • Commitment to racial equity and social justice
