What makes a Purchasing Coordinator successful?

  • Builds relationships with Branch Managers, Project Managers, Designers, Field Personnel and Receiving Contacts
  • Ensures customer satisfaction (both internally and externally) to ensure jobs are costed out properly through purchase orders, manual stock sheets or price books
  • Ensures receiving process is accurate and timely while tracking delivery orders
  • Seeks out and receives quotes for products from the network of suppliers as needed to ensure the customer's specifications are met
  • Reviews purchasing requests from various sources, ensuring Purchase Orders are set up in the system accurately
  • Supports other Purchasing Coordinators as needed and works together as as an integral team member

A successful Purchasing Coordinator should posses the following qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills (both orally and written)
  • Excellent customer service skills; ability to work with both internal and external customers
  • Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One to two years of general purchasing exposure
  • Ability and desire to learn our unique organization
