SEATTLE REP is seeking a resourceful and talented Communications Manager to join the Marketing & Communications Department. The Communications Manager is an integral member of the Communications team, project managing and executing many digital, email, and print communications that guide the patron experience, promote institutional messaging, and drive earned and contributed revenue. This is a project management and storyteller role, and a key writer, editor, and content creator for the organization.
Work will be performed in a hybrid in-person/remote environment with the expectation of at least 2–3 days in the office each week.

Typical Duties Include:
Managing Digital Content Production
- Write email content for Seattle Rep communications and act as back-up for building emails in mass marketing email platform (currently Wordfly)
- Manage CMS web edits calendar with edit requests, timelines, and staff assignments for all CMS updates; implement changes alongside Web Production Specialist and Communications Specialist
- Manage, edit, and contribute content to Inside Seattle Rep blog
Managing Print Collateral Production
- Own graphics calendar and manage project requests, timelines, and staff assignments for all print projects in partnership with Creative Director
- Serve as lead liaison to print and other vendors, managing vendor timelines and needs for all Seattle Rep print and other projects as assigned
- Assist with the production of Encore show programs, the Backstage Pass donor newsletter, and show-related dramaturgical information including writing, editing, and coordinating as assigned
Project Managing Graphic Design & Website Teams Workflow
- Track and monitor graphic design and website edit requests as detailed above
- Work with Communications Director and Director of Strategic Communications to manage cross-departmental expectations and competing priorities, and keep consistent and transparent communications throughout the organization
- Define and negotiate project needs and deadlines with the Creative Director on behalf of the graphic design team in collaboration with other Seattle Rep department needs
Administrative Duties
- Manage Communications department VISA uploads to Finance, receipt and invoice organization and tracking
- Seattle Rep print and digital archives lead
- Monitor USPS bulk mail account
- Lead liaison to external partners requesting co-promotional communications opportunities and content requests
Serve as an essential contributor to Seattle Rep’s culture and success
- Collaborate and work effectively with all other departments across the theater, including Artistic, Marketing, Development, Patron Services, Front of House, Engagement, Public Works, and Production, as part of providing overall communications leadership to the organization
- Add constructively to the collaborative and collegial health of the organization
- Add actively and constructively to the EDI (Equity Diversity & Inclusion) work of the organization, including attending all-staff training sessions
Minimum qualifications
- 3 years of communications, publishing, editorial, and/or dramaturgical experience, preferably in a theater, arts, or other not-for-profit organization
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including acute editorial instincts; tactically skilled and tech-savvy in connecting and sharing stories with diverse audiences
- Self-starter, able to organize work and set appropriate priorities, and to focus effectively to accomplish same
- Excellent project management and interpersonal skills
- Able to meet deadlines under pressure with grace
- Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to or knowledge of racial equity and social justice
Desired qualifications
- Working knowledge of content management systems and email platforms
