Position Summary:

Oversees the implementation of the Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP), ensuring key functions are performed consistent with MMAP Program Standards. Provides support and assistance with outreach and other programs that support agency’s mission.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervises staff and volunteers including providing performance evaluations and setting goals for staff.
  • Meets with clients for Medicare/Medicaid assistance counseling. 
  • Communicates weekly with Chief Program Officer on all facilities issues.
  • Plans, organizes, assigns, directs, screens, interviews, and reviews the work of volunteers and site coordinators; performs recruitment and selection of volunteers and site coordinators, and material resources; trains volunteers and site coordinators.
  • Oversees programs to ensure services are provided in accordance with funder requirements and standards of operations of the various programs. Ensures compliance with MMAP reporting standards, including timelines and confidentiality.
  • Conducts outreach and collaborations with representatives of other organizations to support program needs.
  • Monitors the budgets and units of service to ensure goals are met. Sets goals for programs and implements strategies to accomplish goals.
  • Provides oversight for implementation of grant funded programs in the community.
  • Manages contracts and/or memorandums of understanding for local MMAP sites and counseling locations.
  • Represents CWS, CEO and/or Chief Program Officer within the community at meetings, on committees and in presenting information on the programs offered.
  • Assists the MMAP site coordinators with update trainings, as needed; conducts trainings and outreach for funded programs; provides technical assistance on casework as needed.
  • Oversees site coordinators and team members compliance with MMAP reporting standards, PATH program fidelity and other requirements
  • Support achievement of agency’s mission and vision and reflects its values in work behavior.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION: 

Required:

High school diploma or GED. Have a Certificate of Completion for MMAP and be up to date on recertification.

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Three to five years of experience in the aging network working directly with older adults in a community setting including the delivery of programs.   


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Skill in standard practices and procedures, including the use of standard office equipment, record keeping, business mathematics and basic computer application related to work (Word and Excel).
  • Above average initiative and motivation.
  • Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
  • Possess a positive attitude and creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse populations in a variety of settings.
  • Above average ability to organize, manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Knowledge of community resources and database management.
  • High aptitude for public speaking, teaching, and coaching ability to deliver group instruction with confidence and clarity.


PREFERRED SKILLS: 

MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. and other software programs specific to the agency for data gathering and storage. Multi phone line knowledge.
