Gulf Coast Educators FCU is looking for a Business Development Coordinator! The ideal candidate will represent the Credit Union in the western portion of the Greater Houston Education Area (Katy, Cypress-Fairbanks, Lamar ISD, etc.) and must be someone that is high energy, outgoing and loves meeting new people! The Coordinator will be a master of communication with all levels of School District employees, including Superintendents and Administrators; represent the credit union with their professional appearance; and must have strong public speaking and presentation skills. Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Works directly with school districts to maintain strong brand recognition; promotes credit union to district employees to meet their financial needs and works with districts to maintain a positive relationship by consistently being present and involved in district and community events.

Initiates and fosters productive relationships with school districts in assigned region or market. Builds network of strategic partners to leverage growth opportunities. Creates and delivers presentations/speeches to small & large groups. Is a leader within Business Development, mentors Specialists and ensures they are meeting their job duties

Identifies growth opportunities and initiates activities to market our products and services to achieve or exceed the established corporate goals by implementing strategic plans designed to meet the credit unions short-term and long-term marketing objectives.

Coordinates special events to include planning, scheduling and implementation as required for proper execution of each event. Responsible for collecting details, assigning staff, and coordinating all back-to-school events. Research and orders promotional items/baskets. Assists Marketing Coordinator with the annual meeting, including meeting logistics.

Assist new members with the completion of opening accounts through the mobile app and coordinating payroll deduction for qualifying school districts.Assist with the credit union's involvement in business organizations and education foundations.

Responsible for tracking Business Development efforts utilizing CU-Force and proper coordination of events through the use of Outlook.

Responsible for identifying reportable transactions under the Bank Secrecy Act, obtaining required information, and reporting transactions. Responsible for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all governmental regulations and Credit Union Policies and guidelines. Responsible for complying with Federal Rules and Regulations as required by NCUA.

Knowledge and Skills:
- One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
- Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication, time management, negotiation, public speaking/presentation, sales and organizational skills. Must be highly motivated, detail oriented, independent, self-directed and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must maintain a professional and positive attitude to encourage new membership and enhance current member relations. Appearance must be professional and positively represent the Credit Union at all times.
- May sit or stand for long periods of time. Ability to ambulate within work area required. Must be able to communicate (talk, hear, listen) to members in order to efficiently perform job duties. Work may require occasional physical activity including lifting marketing material and giveaways up to 50 lbs, bending, squatting, twisting and reaching. Responsible for maintaining company vehicle, including registration, inspection and maintenance.
- This position requires regular local travel using Credit Union vehicle. A valid driver's license is required for this position. Office is comfortable cool work environment. School events may be in school auditoriums, gymnasium, classrooms, transportation buildings or outside. The school environment may occasionally be hot, warm, cool, or cold but is routinely in a comfortable office environment. The school environment may be loud and chaotic, requiring careful maneuvering through crowded hallways.
