Position Summary:

Construction Assistant Superintendent position available to oversee all aspects of field production for Commercial construction projects.  This position is for an Assistant Superintendent who will be on-site assisting in the direction of the day-to-day operations.  The Assistant Superintendent will be supported by Lead Superintendent,  a Project Manager, and/or a General Superintendent, and will be provided with the technology, support staff, equipment resources & necessary training to be successful.

 

Responsibilities:

A CDI Assistant Superintendent has primary responsibility for day-to-day production of all construction operations on-site, while managing CDI & Subcontractor schedule progress sometimes under the direction of a Lead/General Superintendent.  The ability to oversee that our schedule production is achieved in a safe manner, while holding all accountable for maintaining quality-control, is mandatory.  Our Superintendents have a direct line of communication to project clients, architects & engineers, while being provided all necessary resources to successfully oversee field production of our construction projects and the Assistant is expected to help facilitate this.

 

Education/Experience:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Construction Superintendent or related experience...
  • …Or; Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Mgt or Engineering (or related degree), plus 3+ years of construction management experience.
  • Advanced experience with means/methods & processes of building commercial construction projects.
  • Knowledge & experience with Scheduling projects:
    • Developing schedules.
    • Day-to-day managing of schedule sequences.
    • Success in holding trades accountable for achieving scheduled durations.
    • Schedule software proficient.
  • Experience as Superintendent in one, or more, of the following construction markets:
    • Retail
    • Healthcare
    • Office
    • Cultural (Church, Theatrical, Museum)
    • Government / City / Military
    • Higher Education
    • Industrial / Public Works
    • Hospitality
    • Athletic Facilities
    • Banking

Other Requirements:

  • Advanced Written Communication / Documentation / Organizational skills.
  • Outstanding Verbal Communication skills (interaction with clients, & with managing your field operations).
  • Ability to study, understand & communicate a project’s plans & specs.
  • Skilled in Team Leadership & Motivating others.
  • Skilled in holding trades accountable for schedule & contractual obligations.
  • Desire to invest in the career development of other team members.
