Summary

Under the direct supervision of a project manager, this position will split time between the office and field working with PEMB crews.  Once the individual is comfortable with estimating software and the Senior PM has an assurance of quality of work, the position will report to the Area Manager.  This position is located in Mobile, AL.

Essential Functions

Get field experience with current PEMB crews learning the process of erecting a building from unloading to completion
Learn construction estimating software including proprietary software from industry partner companies
Learn the process of component ordering and creating accurate sketches for orders.
Meet and form relationships with PEMB company representatives to obtain assistance on project estimates.
Attend sales meetings and conferences to further knowledge and industry relationships.
Learn to operate 20’ metal break and market the use of it and obtain jobs for the equipment.
Possibly manage industrial projects within local manufacturing/industrial plants.
Digital sketches, modeling, proposal writing, estimating and project management support as needed.  

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as outside, jobsite conditions. When working in the field, the job will be subjected to heat, cold, rain, sunshine, dust, noise, and other conditions typically found in an outdoor setting.

Physical Demands

The role requires the ability to use hand/eye coordination, stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, climb, hand dexterity while using tools.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, salaried position. Days and hours of work vary according to the assignment for the week.  In general days are Monday – Friday although Saturday work may at times be required.  

Travel

Travel is expected for this position.  

Required Education, Experience, Skills

High school diploma.  
Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office/Bluebeam/P6/Estimating
Well-spoken and good communicator
Energetic and willing to learn

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills

Associates or Bachelor’s degree
Structural steel fabrication experience
Pre-Engineered Metal Building erection experience
3 – 5 years construction experience
