Summary

Based in our Anaconda, MT Office, the Senior Electrical Engineer is part of a dynamic team responsible for electrical, instrumentation, and controls design for municipal, private, and environmental remediation projects.  Successful candidates will apply their extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of engineering assignments 

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Applies a thorough knowledge of power engineering principles and practices
  • Develop electrical and controls design specifications and construction specifications
  • Specifying instrumentation including flow, pressure, temperature, and water quality
  • Electrical/controls system installation and construction oversight
  • Develop design drawing packages, which include P&IDs, one lines, panel schedules, cable and conduit schedules, Area Classification drawings, construction site plans, grounding drawings, Building Layout Drawings, Lighting Plans.
  • Construction oversight responsibilities both in the field and in fabrication shops
  • Perform electrical arc flash studies, coordination studies, short-circuit current rating calculations, etc.
  • Programmable logic controller (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system design and specification

Required Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related area required
  • 5+ years of experience in relevant roles
  • PE license required or ability to obtain PE within one year of hire
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
  • In depth knowledge of governing standards including NEC, NFPA 79, and UL 508A
  • Expertise in power system modelling
  • Working knowledge of construction techniques related to electrical equipment installation
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, OneNote, and Teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills both internally with Alloy Group team members and externally with clients and sub-contractors.

Preferred Skills, Education & Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related area required
  • Programming experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) PLCs, Wonderware InTouch, Schneider GeoSCADA and SCADAPack RTUs.
  • Operations Technology networking design and system configuration
  • Three phase motor and VFD selection and sizing experience
  • Knowledge of Zscaler Client Connector security software
