VP of Data Collection Services
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Location: Glen Mills, PA
Status: Full time, Exempt
Job Summary:
The Vice President of Data Collection Services will provide general oversight and hands-on direction of our internal and external data collection staff and activities, including resource procurement and project execution across multiple data collection modes – Web, Mail, Telephone, Face-to-face, and Qualitative – for domestic and international projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set departmental vision, strategy, goals and objectives, policies and procedures
- Perform analysis of current data collection operation and ensure we have the appropriate organizational structure, partnerships, standard operating procedures, and metrics in place to support SSRS’s strategy and objectives
- Establish a fully integrated and cross trained Data Collection team structure that allows staff members to manage procurement and project execution activities across all data collection modes
- Staff development at all levels (hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluations)
- Establish and support a professional atmosphere and team culture
- Identify opportunities to introduce automation into the end-to-end process; Evaluate and implement solutions that will ensure cost effective, quality data collection
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships with intense focus on quality and cost; define SLA’s and negotiate contracts
- Through a combination of internal and external resources, maintain adequate staffing levels to support projected work volumes
- Ensure internal and external data collection teams achieve quality and delivery targets
- Oversee master data collection schedule and assignment of projects; Ensure project specifications are aligned with budget and schedule
- Provide consultation to Client Services; Play an active role in preparing proposals and cost estimates for complex, high-value research projects
- Establish and maintain workflow standard operating procedures across all data collection modes
- Manage the financial elements of the data collection operation, including budgeting, investment requirements, external expenditures, cost estimating algorithms, staff recruitment and training costs, etc.

Preferred Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in marketing, social science, business or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Comprehensive understanding of data collection processes within survey research environment
- 8+ years of management experience
