Adolfson & Peterson Construction, one of the nation’s top contractors, is recruiting for an experienced Quality Control (QC) Engineer / Manager for our Southwest region based out of the Phoenix market.  We combine more than 70 years of construction expertise with the newest technologies in order to meet our clients' needs.  We serve owners, architects, and developers with a commitment to teamwork and quality and are constantly looking for people to help us achieve our company goals.

This position provides training, guidance, and oversight to project teams regarding quality assurance and quality control.  The QC Engineer will also act as a liaison to owner and project manager to set standards for performance.

Key Accountabilities of the role include:

  1. Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
  • Be a champion to support IIF efforts for working safely and building a culture of caring within the organization.
  • Maintain a relationship with safety take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of each person at your work place.
  • Consistently communicate and reinforce the tenets of an IIF workplace.
  • Ensure adherence to processes and procedures that support an IIF culture.
  1. Monitor and manage to contract quality standards
  • Interact with client/owner, agencies, subcontractors, and internal staff on quality related matters including performance activities such as audits, program setup, and program planning
  • Educate owner and project team about quality standards and monitor during the project
  • Attend progress and quality meetings
  1. Review compliance testing and remediation
  • Ensure that adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance
  1. Develop and coordinate quality plans and submittals; coordinate implementation
  • Document and submit quality reports
  • Complete reporting requirements
  1. Ensure quality inspections, audits, and testing are conducted with the utmost integrity, scheduled in a timely fashion, and with proper resources
  • Perform audits, preparation of company standards, and notification to management of quality issues
  • Prepare QC reports and maintain inspection logs
  • Identify impacts and evaluate effects on production budget and schedule
  1. Collaborate with Safety to ensure job safety is uncompromised
  2. Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  1. History of experience and proven results including:
    1. High school degree or equivalent and 2+ years of quality experience in the construction industry or a combination of education and related job experience
    2. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
    3. Formal QA/QC training and certification preferred
    4. Demonstrated understanding of construction codes, compliance, standards, and controls
    5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
  2. Ability to travel to job sites
  3. Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards
  4. Developed skills (written, oral, and listening) in order to effectively communicate with diverse audiences
  5. Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints
  6. This position is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing
