HR Works is exclusively partnering with Father Tracy Advocacy Center in its search for an Executive Director, located in Rochester, NY.
Father Tracy Advocacy Center is a 501(c)(3) organization serving a diverse population, in part by providing free bagged lunches and water to the homeless and transient population in the area, maintaining a clothing bank, and utilizing the strength of existing services to meet the local population's needs. The Center additionally utilizes its location in the epicenter of the region’s opioid epidemic to connect individuals who are ready to start recovery to the appropriate services.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION SUMMARY:
Father Tracy Advocacy Center is seeking a self-driven and highly competent Non-Profit leader who will embody its values of dignity, respect, and love, lead The Center’s strategic growth and development initiatives towards favorable growth, and design and direct strategies that support and enhance its organizational operations. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the fundraising, finances, and administration; stewardship of programs; communications, outreach, public policy, and advocacy; and organizational development, including executing the strategic plan and vision of Father Tracy Advocacy Center. The Executive Director reports to the Board Chair and works closely with other Board members in both their governance and fiduciary roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizational Strategy: Develop, direct, and execute organizational strategies and deliverables, manage, and grow agency assets, and identify potential risks and opportunities within the organization and its environment to protect the organization’s interests.
- Financial Operations: Maintain sound financial practices, optimize financial operations, improve revenue, oversee financial accounts, prepare comprehensive budgets, effectively and efficiently direct operational budgets, report on revenue and expenditures, and identify potential sources of investment and organize fundraising efforts.
- Operations: Oversee and streamline daily operations, execute special business projects, build capacity to support organizational growth, establish organizational policies, and advise and update the Board of Directors on organizational activities.
- Organizational Culture: Develop the organizational culture and promote transparency and collaboration throughout the organization. Provide leadership and management support to all staff.
- Communications: Apply marketing, verbal, and writing expertise to communicate the organization’s mission and vision, and service offerings.
- Compliance: Monitor organizational operations and ensure employees and business practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Community Relations: Represent the organization at social and corporate events in ways that strengthen the brand and communicate the organization’s message, utilize credible messenger expertise to develop partnerships and enhance relations with staff, populations served, community members, and other key stakeholders, interact comfortably with neighbors, community members, and businesses in the N. Clinton Avenue area.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BA/BS degree required. A Master’s degree in non-profit management, business administration, or related fields is considered a plus.
- Demonstrated financial management, strategic planning, and program development competencies.
- Five or more years of demonstrated success managing a nonprofit organization or an operating division of a nonprofit agency.
- Exceptional leadership presence and experience serving as a spokesperson for an organization, with demonstrated ability to increase and leverage organizational visibility, credibility, and brand recognition through the media and other public relations sources.
- Ability to lead a staff team to develop and implement a tactical plan that provides services that align with the organization’s strategic plan and vision.
- Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community.
- Experience in creating and maintaining strong working relationships with a nonprofit Board of Directors and encouraging Board members’ engagement and expertise in all aspects of organizational excellence.
- Demonstrated record of professional commitment and goal achievement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in addition to active listening skills.
- Track record of developing, refining, and executing a strategic vision.
- Experience with regulatory compliance related to fundraising for a 501(c)(3) foundation.
- Experience in managing diverse cultures, ethnicities, languages, and abilities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the local community through advocacy, activism, and/or volunteerism.
