Childhaven is seeking a dynamic Recruiter to support us in achieving our mission, vision, goals, and values. This is a hands-on role that needs an experienced individual who has a great depth and breadth of skills, including but not limited to: Diversity Recruitment that aligns with Childhaven’s Anti-Racism initiatives. Above all, the selected candidate will bring enthusiasm for helping us build and support a passionate and skilled workforce of diverse professionals who make significant positive impacts in the lives of children, families, and communities.

Travel will be required between our service locations, currently located in Seattle and South King County as well as hiring events. This position will report to our HR Director. 


Recruitment Coordination

  • Develop systems, processes, procedures, tools, techniques, and networks in order to help ensure Childhaven can fill positions with qualified applicants in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
  • Work with hiring managers to help identify staffing needs, create and implement creative recruitment plans, and identify the most applicable resources for outreach and postings.
  • Draft and/or review job postings and advertisings to ensure that they are accurate, consistent, and compelling.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient system for tracking all past and current openings and applicants.

Filling the Pipeline with Qualified and Diverse Applicants

  • Proactively recruit passive candidates (through LinkedIn, Indeed, professional networks, etc.) with Childhaven’s diversity and antiracism work as the guiding principles.
  • Post and promote all open positions via job posting sites, social media, universities, other community-based partners, job fairs, etc.
  • Maintain high quality communication with hiring managers, potential candidates, and selected applicants, ensuring a high level of professionalism and customer service throughout the entire process.
  • Travel to hiring events, universities/colleges, and community partners that support Childhaven’s recruiting efforts.

Candidate Selection

  • Review application packets for appropriateness of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements.
  • Provide initial screening of applicants and participate in interviews where needed.
  • Work with hiring managers to determine interview process, questions, and panelists.
  • Assist hiring managers and HR Director in the facilitation of selection and job offer process.
  • Provide support to Workforce Planning as needed.


  • 5+ years of high-volume recruiting experience.
  • Must demonstrate sourcing and assessment skills.
  • High level of energy, creativity, and independent thinking.
  • Self-motivated and results driven with ability to communicate and influence effectively with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Ability to consistently deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to build collaborate internal and external relationships.
