Keystone Engineering is currently seeking an E/I Designer for a Geismar Area onsite position.
Position Type: Full-time
Location: Geismar Area Facility
Work Environment/Physical Demands: Office/Sedentary, Plant
Travel Requirements: Occasional site visits required.
Essential Functions:
- Work onsite at a client facility in the Geismar Area
- Provide design/drafting on a wide variety of electrical/instrumentation/control system plant capital projects
- Work within a design team responsible for the execution of engineering and design packages to be issued for construction
- Work with plant staff, engineers, and other disciplines to develop drawing package content necessary for successful installations
- Assist project engineering and discipline engineers with supporting information during project development/funding stages through final issue
- Perform necessary field research and conduct communications with stakeholders on scope details within the E/I Discipline
- Generate accurate and representative design packages using AutoCAD
- Coordinate with other design disciplines to align with the overall project scope
- Provide experience and skills to assist technical staff and other E/I designers with helpful input that ensures a team effort delivery on projects
- Follow all client standards and project execution procedures
- Promote safety in all aspects of involvement
Requirements:
- AS/BS in Drafting from an ABET-accredited program (Preferred).
- Additional Field Technician experience is also of great value toward base credentials
- 10-15 years of experience in plant facility assignments and/or consulting engineering office positions
- Fundamental understanding of electrical/instrumentation systems and installation details for industrial applications.
- Ability to make field trips and participate in project meetings
- Ability to help determine design manhour requirements to support deliverables estimates
- Basic computer skills in addition to hands-on experience with AutoCAD.
- Current TWIC Card needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate
- Team Player and willing to assist with helping other staff.
