Position Overview: The Machine Monitoring Specialist at Coastline Equipment plays a vital role in ensuring our clients’ equipment operates smoothly and efficiently. Based in either our Corporate Headquarters in Long Beach, CA, or North Las Vegas, NV, this position is responsible for monitoring, distributing, and tracking telematics, Expert Alerts, and JDLink™ Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). This role is essential for diagnosing equipment problems swiftly to minimize machine downtime, directly contributing to the company’s focus on operational excellence and superior customer service.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and Distribute Expert Alerts: Review incoming Expert Alerts, distribute them to the appropriate team or perform customer outreach as needed.
  • Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Monitoring: Track incoming DTCs and distribute relevant information to the necessary parties.
  • Remote Diagnostics and Access: Utilize Service ADVISOR™ Remote and Remote Display Access (RDA) for efficient remote diagnostics.
  • Actionable Communication: Provide clear, concise summaries and recommendations to clients or internal teams.
  • Work Order Management: Create and maintain work orders, including remote diagnostic segments, for accurate service documentation.
  • Technical Knowledge Maintenance: Stay current on technical aspects of engine, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including repair schematics.
  • Professional Interaction: Maintain a positive and professional relationship with peers, management, and support resources, embodying teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Training Participation: Attend Factory Certified Capstone Training as needed to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Workspace Maintenance: Keep a clean and organized work area, following all safety and operational protocols.
  • Product Knowledge Updates: Keep up-to-date on John Deere and competitive products, enhancing the ability to provide effective solutions.

Additional responsibilities may include CDI (Certified Dealer Instructor) and Technical Communicator duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in service repairs and diagnostics, particularly with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems; experience with agricultural and turf equipment preferred.
  • Proven track record in customer service with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer functions and familiarity with Deere systems is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for individual and group settings.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
