ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:
- Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
- Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
- Fieldwork such as site visits, soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation system operation and maintenance;
- Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
- Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:
- Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
- Fieldwork: Up to 30%
- Overnight travel: Up to 10%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
- Bachelor’s degree in geology or environmental science. (required)
- Advanced degree in geology or environmental science. (preferred)
- Geologist in Training (GIT) certification. (preferred)
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technologies. (preferred)
- Prior research experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams, and planning and executing field assignments. (preferred)
- Prior internship or work experience (1 to 2 years) in environmental consulting. (preferred)
- Experience with ArcView, Microsoft Access/SQL, Modflow, Surfer, KT-3D, Leapfrog and/or EVS. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base wage range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.
Minimum Wage: $23.90/hour or $64,480/year / Maximum Wage: $31.00/hour or $77,505/year (Santa Barbara, San Diego)
