Position Title: Senior Center Assistant (Part Time)
Reports to: Program Manager, Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center
Assists members and volunteers, coordinates front desk, and provides clerical support as directed by Program Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serves as Center receptionist during pre-designated hours, answers phone and responds to questions from members, visitors, and people calling the Center during hours of operation.
- Helps orient new members, guests, and other visitors to HCSEC programs and facility, as well as CWS program and services.
- Assists in scheduling volunteers for various needs, including programs and activities. Assists with volunteer on-boarding and background checks. Assists with updating and distributing a master volunteer calendar. Assists with resolving conflicting schedules and substitutes volunteers as needed.
- Assists members with MySeniorCenter (MSC) software so that they are comfortable using the system, trouble shoot and correct scan errors when applicable.
- Assists Program Manager with program planning and coordination as directed. Assists with general clerical duties as assigned.
- Gathers Congregate Meal orders and conveys to vendor.
- Assists with set up, clean up, restocks coffee station
- Assists in payments received. Reconciles receipts and daily cash and gives banking bag and daily transaction log to Program Manager at end of each day or shift.
- Ensures fans, stereo and all Fitness Center equipment is turned off, sanitized, and dusted at end of day. Adheres to opening and closing policies and procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED.
Collaborating with diverse communities in a human service organization preferred.

- Able to communicate effectively, respectfully, and patiently with a wide variety of older adults.
- Possess or be willing to obtain a CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
- Competence with computers and related technology, including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
- Ability to keep accurate records
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Demonstrated capacity to collaborate with staff and community partners.
- Physically capable of lifting 25 pounds and/or moving furniture (i.e., tables, chairs, etc.) as needed.

Non-Exempt (part-time) – up to 20 hours per week
$12 per hour
