Due to recent expansion in the Australian operations, we are seeking an exceptional Environmental Engineer/Scientist enthusiastic to progress and manage Contaminated Land projects in our Sydney, Australia office to help grow our contaminated site assessment and remediation practices. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps and figures;
  • Prepare technical reports, letters,  and plans consistent with NSW EPA guidelines;
  • Proposal and tender preparation;
  • Review and manage written document production;
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
  • At times, job may also include fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterisation, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction; and
  • Business development; including assisting with bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and assisting with developing and implementing a business development plan.
  • Fieldwork: up to 20% on complex projects coordinating a field team.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science or related field. (required)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Around 5 to 10 years of direct environmental consulting experience including project financial management. 
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
  • Valid NSW driver’s licence and satisfactory driving record for business travel.
  • Licensed asbestos assessor (preferred).
