Due to recent expansion in the Australian operations, we are seeking an exceptional Environmental Engineer/Scientist enthusiastic to progress and manage Contaminated Land projects in our Sydney, Australia office to help grow our contaminated site assessment and remediation practices. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
- Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
- Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
- Data analysis, including preparing maps and figures;
- Prepare technical reports, letters, and plans consistent with NSW EPA guidelines;
- Proposal and tender preparation;
- Review and manage written document production;
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
- At times, job may also include fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterisation, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction; and
- Business development; including assisting with bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and assisting with developing and implementing a business development plan.
- Fieldwork: up to 20% on complex projects coordinating a field team.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science or related field. (required)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Around 5 to 10 years of direct environmental consulting experience including project financial management.
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
- Valid NSW driver’s licence and satisfactory driving record for business travel.
- Licensed asbestos assessor (preferred).
