ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals?  Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and modeling;
  • Watershed, stormwater management, and stream restoration design and analysis;
  • Surface water quality/hydrodynamic modeling and environmental data analysis;
  • Green infrastructure/low impact development best management practice design;
  • Floodplain modeling and permitting;
  • Erosion and sediment control design;
  • Clean Water Act/National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance;
  • Civil/infrastructure design and site layout;
  • Site visits/field investigations; and
  • Preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, etc.

  • Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants. 
  • Fieldwork: Up to 25%
  • Overnight travel: As projects require.
  • Straight-Time Overtime: This position is eligible for straight-time overtime for project and proposal hours worked in excess of the regularly scheduled full/part time weekly hours.
  • Hybrid Work Schedule: The position qualifies for the option to work from home 2 to 3 days a week on a fixed weekly schedule. Dedicated workspace is provided to employees working at least 3 days a week in the office; otherwise shared workspace is available.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, biosystems engineering or related science. (required)
  • Advanced degree in civil, environmental, biosystems engineering or related science. (preferred)
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration or passing grade in Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • No previous experience required.
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Experience with modeling/design tools such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, EPA SWMM, and TR-55. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
