Senior IT Specialist
Sanders Brothers Construction is currently seeking a Senior Support Specialist to support 150 end users supporting a variety of desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. The Support Specialist will lead the Company’s IT function through strategic thinking and assessment of current & future functions, performance and capabilities. Additionally, the Support Specialist will support the Company’s ERP users to maximize software/system functionality. The position will require not only leadership, but also a hands-on approach with regards to IT support. This is a full-time position located at our main office in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure successful daily user operations by responding to incidents, troubleshooting issues, performing diagnostic testing and resolving performance related inquiries
- Ensure inventory of company owned equipment is accurate and all assets are accounted for
- Work directly with employees regarding their technology related issues which includes mobile phone, laptop, tablets, etc.
- Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, and perform security updates that support LAN/WAN functionality
- Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups
- Install hardware and software
- Perform software updates and upgrades
- Set up/troubleshoot Wi-Fi and connectivity issues
- Maintain relationship with managed service provider
- Negotiate contracts with third party vendors and suppliers
- Monitor system changes, understand impact to end users and perform hardware and/or software installations and updates to all company assets requiring updates
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT procedures by identifying opportunities for improvement
- Research technology as it relates to our business needs and communicated strategic opportunities to use technology to advance the business
- Lead company technology growth, development and solution implementation
- Analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing
- Regular communication with Company leadership regarding current status, demands and future needs/development
- In coordination with the CFO, develop annual IT budget to support business operations
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to listen, interpret and explain computer related concepts in non-technical terms
- Respond to texts, emails, and calls on technical issues
- Document and analyze technical issues and customer interactions
- Respond with a sense of urgency to employee (customer) needs and follow up to ensure corrective solutions were effective
- Responsible for end user support
- Strong troubleshooting skills in an enterprise environment and the ability to multi-task
- Strong knowledge of current operating systems and software products
- Responsible for installation and maintenance of computers, tablets, mobile phones, applications and related technologies
- Troubleshoot and replace hardware, hard drives, memory, and other networking peripherals. Install operating systems, reload, desktops and notebooks
- Create reports of moderate to complex difficulty in SSRS and Crystal reporting for VISTA
- SQL database management and knowledge of performing routine software updates
- Troubleshoot existing reports and queries in VISTA
Preferred Experience:
- 4-6 years of experience supporting Windows 10 operating systems
- 4-6 years of experience supporting Windows Server operating systems
- 4-6 years of Customer Service/Technical Support
- 2-4 years of experience supporting and implementing cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google)
- 2-4 years of experience managing IT projects
- 1-2 years of SSRS/Crystal report writing experience (preferred)
- Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Ability to assess current environment and provide guidance regarding current and future business demands
- Microsoft Office expert – Exchange setup
- Active Directory/Domain oriented environment experience
Educational Requirements:
- AA/AS in information technology or similar (preferred)
- Industry specific certifications (strongly preferred)
