Concrete Form Carpenter

- Location: Kodiak Island, Alaska
Housing on Kodiak Island and Per-diem will be provided. Employees to provide their own vehicle transportation to and from the jobsite daily. We will pay for ferry transportation on and off the island for their POV’s at the start and end of employment.
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of carpentry tasks associated with prepping, pouring, placing, and finishing of concrete. Tasks include erecting and setting forms for concrete structures, foundations, buildings, and site work per specifications and drawings. This may include concrete tilt-wall forms, Symon forms, and/or structural forms for columns, decks, elevator cores, parking garages, and other cast-in-place concrete structures.. They may work alongside and collaborate with other skilled tradespeople to complete their work, including engineers.
The employee should have the ability to work different shifts and long hours (8-12 hours), when necessary. Weekend work and extra hours occur according to production needs and at the Crew Supervisor’s discretion.
Specific Responsibilities
Concrete Form Carpenters must have experience in all phases of setting up a concrete pour to include:
- Setting forms to withstand the pressures of concrete
- Setting Forms plumb, level and to grade
- Reinforcing Formwork with steel stakes
- Applicant must be able to set and drive required steel stakes to reinforce formwork
- Applicant must have experience in lasers for flatness of forms
- Applicants must have experience of setting forms to grade
- Applicants must be willing to work in rainy weather conditions
- Applicants must provide their own personal hand tools
Position Requirements
- Ability to obtain a base pass for working onsite
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred
- Be able to work in constant change in weather and site conditions
- Be able to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, couch, crawl and reach to perform everyday job tasks

Physical/Mental Requirements
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
The employee must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This may include hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, or other equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
The employee must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel. Must be capable of evacuating the work area in a timely manner should an emergency situation arise.
