LOCATED IN LA VISTA, NE

The Accounting Clerk will report directly to the Accounting Manager.  This position will be based out of the Strobel Energy Group office in La Vista, NE.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable Tasks:
    • Monthly engineering and project billings.
    • Setting up new customers.
    • Follow up with customers on past due invoices.
    • Respond to inquiries from Customers.
  • Accounts Payable and Purchasing.
    • Backup to Accounts Payable Clerk by processing invoices in the accounting system, match invoices to purchase orders and receiving tickets, verify accuracy of invoices and investigate any discrepancies.
    • Enter purchase orders and commitments with guidance from the purchasing and project management teams.
    • Respond to inquiries and requests from project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers. 
  • Job cost Tasks:
    • Setup new jobs and open cost codes
    • Daily data entry of key production transactions.
    • Run reports as requested from the operations team.
  • Other Accounting Functions
    • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department and other departments as needed.
    • Perform other accounting tasks as needed.
    • Assist with preparation of sales and use tax returns.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent.
  • Two years of related experience or training.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices, general office procedures, and job cost accounting.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various levels throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and work independently with the know how to communicate efficiently with the team.
  • Passionate individual who drives to excel and delivers exceptional results.
  • Preferred experience with Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) and Timberscan.
  • Preferred previous experience in the construction industry.
