Job Purpose

This role should provide support to the indus Payroll and HR team at an entry to mid-level capacity to assist in confidential matters while learning our internal process and procedures to become a backup for our team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Payroll Manager with weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Become proficient in multi-state tax and leave protocol.
  • Provide administrative support to PR and HR for confidential material.
  • Serve as a backup for payroll questions and inquiries.
  • Provide support for unemployment inquiries.
  • Assist HR Manager with administrative functions of our Learning Management System (training and development)

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred or equivalent certification/experience in lieu of college degree required;
  • Minimum 3-5 years previous related experience in payroll or HR;
  • General knowledge & understanding of the construction industry is preferred;
  • Knowledge or experience with a union is preferred;
  • Possess excellent written & verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with the field, management, and office staff alike;
  • Proficient in Excel;
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized;
  • Successfully work in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Work under pressure in a deadline driven environment;
  • Must be proactive and solution oriented;

 

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements

  • Requires extensive computer use for long periods of time;
  • Noise level is typically quiet in the office;
  • Required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers to probe, handle, or feel and reach with hands or arms;
  • Required to sit for long periods;
  • Required to listen and respond in a professional manner;
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25lbs;
