Keystone Engineering is currently seeking an entry-level Drafter to join our Baton Rouge team.

Position Type: Full-time

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Office/Sedentary

Travel Requirements:  Occasional site visits required.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and/or update drawings from mark-ups, examples, and directed guidance using AutoCAD.
  • Support drawings that will be issued by the Civil/Structural discipline design team, such as plans, sections, and details. 
  • Familiarity with civil and structural steel terminology and symbology. 
  • Prepare drawing plots and copies relative to project requirements and/or deliverables as directed by designers.
  • Responsible for revising existing drawings, for other disciplines, per markups furnished by engineering or designers.
  • Capable of making site visits to help designers and engineers gather field information.
  • Develop an understanding of drawings for the Civil/Structural discipline.
  • Provide an understanding of project responsibilities with respect to specific task deliverables and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Execute an awareness of project schedules and budgets.
  • Drawing updates will be in both 2-D and 3-D software.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of Drafting from an accredited institution.
  • 1-5 years of drafting experience. 
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD needed.
  • Training or working knowledge of Plant 3-D and/or Advanced Steel package helpful.
  • Experience in creating C/S drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer

Experience Preferred:

  • AS in drafting
  • Plant 3D
  • Experience with laser scan processing
  • Intern or previous experience in oil & gas industry
