Contractor Quality Control Systems Manager (CQCSM)

  • Supervisor: Senior Project Manager
  • Compensation: FLSA Status Exempt
  • Location: Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska

Position Summary

The CQCM is responsible for maintaining an effective quality control system consisting of the plans, procedures, and organization necessary to produce an end product which complies with the contract requirements.

Position Responsibilities

  • Attend the pre-construction conference, pre-work meetings including preparatory meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings.
  • Attend a mandatory Contractor Quality Control (CQC) Training class and utilize Government-furnished Resident Management System 3.0 (RMS) program.
  • Attend weekly coordination meetings with the Superintendent and Contracting Officer.
  • Track construction deficiencies from identification through acceptable corrective action.
  • Report progress in the Daily CQC Report and submit to the Government.
  • Supervise all Special Inspectors required by the contract documents and the International Building Code (IBC).
  • Authority to stop work which is not in compliance with the contract.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with all applicable federal, state and local regulations, statutes, ordinances, rules, and laws.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to safety.
  • Experienced in providing written daily reports on construction activities.
  • Familiar with current building codes and inspection requirements.
  • Ideal candidate should be self-motivated and have a passion for construction.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with a degree in construction management, engineering or architecture preferred OR an engineering technician with at least 2 years of college and an ICC certification as a Commercial Building Inspector ten years field management experience.
  • Experience in use of US Army Corps of Engineers Quality Control program desirable.
  • Prior quality control experience on military construction projects or equivalent private projects desirable.
  • Industrial experience desirable.
  • Experienced working with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have good organizational and management skills.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Have ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DOD) gate pass.
