Job Description:   Electrician - Residential Service Technician

Reports to: Service Coordinator/Service Manager

 

Position Overview:

The Residential Service Technician should be able to perform the duties necessary to Install, service and repair residential electrical systems in the customer’s home. As well, this person must be able to perform residential electrical install work from new construction of home to construction completion of home.

Essential Functions & Duties

  • Up to Date on residential NEC codes
  • Replace/Install Ceiling Fan/Lighting Wiring, Boxes, Switches, Timers and Dimmers
  • Exterior Flood Lighting; Install & Replacement
  • Replace/install Meter Base/service riser/weather heads.
  • Main Panel upgrades
  • Install Hot Tub Circuits
  • Breaker Replacement/Installation
  • Exhaust Fan Replacement/Installation
  • Install Floor Outlet
  • Install/Replace Smoke Detectors
  • Photocell Lighting Controls
  • Install Phone/Coax Cables & Jacks
  • Troubleshoot and Repair/Replace Doorbell Systems
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics for Repairs

Qualifications: 

  • Possess excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining adherence to project deadlines.
  • Ability to provide and exemplary customer service experience and positive attitude.
  • The ability to interact with customers and co-workers with an above-average level of professionalism and maturity is essential.
  • Attention to quality control with a focus on team building and customer relationships.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Residential electrical installation and service preferred.
  • Associates or some technical college or certification training preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Individuals may need to ride or drive in a vehicle for 2 or more hours at a time depending on position.
  • May be exposed to varying temperatures outside- above 90 degrees F and below 32 degrees F. and all-weather conditions.
  • May be exposed to cramped workspaces, contaminants, extremely bring or inadequate lighting conditions, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Frequent use of hands to handle controls, tools, objects.
  • Must be able to sit, talk, hear and stand frequently throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently.
  • May require lifting heavy objects-up to 75lbs. and performing strenuous physical labor.
  • May occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places and/or hazardous equipment.
  • May work around chemicals that require knowledge of safety data sheets.
