Job Purpose
The Safety Assistant is responsible for assisting the safety team with various compliance and regulatory projects/audits/programs. He/she will perform a variety of administrative and support functions related to safety/regulatory and compliance needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs risk management/GPS monitoring assessments and communicates findings to management;
  • Coordinates/collects documents, indexes and ensures DOT Driver Qualification file compliance;
  • Coordinates Massport badges;
  • Review daily submissions of meetings, incidents, inspections, observations ect;
  • Monitors, reviews, and updates Samba Safety;
  • Serves as backup for reporting incidents to insurance and helps to maintain incident stats;
  • Assists with scheduling and follow up for employee trainings (new hire, re-hire, and NELTA);
  • Assists in maintaining HazMat inventory and online SDS system; and
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience in lieu of college degree required;
  • Minimum 3 years previous related experience;
  • Possess excellent written & verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with the field, management and clients alike;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required;
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment; and
  • Must be proactive and solution oriented.

Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year
