Revit Technician / Designer is responsible for creating Revit models and construction documents for a wide variety of industrial projects. Qualified candidates must have successfully completed a program in Architectural/Construction technology and have experience working with others to successfully complete projects. This position is full-time, with benefits, and salary will be commensurate with experience and skill set.   

As a Revit Technician you will perform drafting duties in planning and design, provide technical, drafting expertise, and play a lead role in the successful execution of projects. Specifically,  this position  will be responsible for utilizing Revit to support Structural and Mechanical engineering projects. In addition, this position will be responsible for the development of structural related shop and production drawings used in the construction of industrial facilities. The primary tool used is Autodesk’s Revit, requiring a high degree of expertise with the program. Familiarity with State code approvals, structural engineering principles, and material specifications are preferred. As most projects will be constructed in part or fully by Strobel Energy Group, the engineering team will be responsible for clearly communicating the design and confirming specifications are achieved by both internal and external stakeholders.  

Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

  • Prepare design documents for structural systems, including construction drawings, details, construction notes, and schedules.
  • Work closely with both structural and mechanical designers.
  • Proficient at working independently.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Provide technical support, design ideas, and solutions to the engineers.
  • Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical information in structural engineering projects from conceptual stage through design and construction.
  • Assist with the development of State code approvals, integration of Structural Engineering designs, and integration of material specifications into the production drawing package.
  • Follow drafting standards, and department procedures to ensure consistency.
  • Timely completion of designs to support production and the engineering schedule.

Requirements:

  • Proficient with Revit at creating accurate models and producing complete construction drawings.
  • Preferred to have experience/specialized in structural modelling and drawings.
  • Needs to have basic knowledge of piping systems.
  • Preferred 2 -3 years of experience working at a design firm.
  • Certified Revit Professional is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internally and externally in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with varied scope and complexity.
