Keystone Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Lead E&I Designer to join our Port Arthur team.

Position Type: PRN, "as needed"

Location:  Port Arthur, TX

Work Environment: Office/Sedentary

Travel Requirements: Occasional site visits required

Essential Functions:

  • Understands drafting requirements for his/her discipline.
  • Adapt to Client Drafting Standards and Specifications which apply to his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Understands the designs for any system within his/her discipline once design guidelines and system criteria have been established.
  • Responsible for the constructability, operability, and maintainability of the design within his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Provides comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input into design related to his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Responsible for the preparation of detailed design drawings within his/her discipline, in accordance with engineering design, required as project deliverables.
  • Provides continual guidance to drafters within his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Maintains and keeps organizes a Job Data Book which contains all the pertinent information used during the design for his/her discipline for assigned project.
  • Reviews drawings within his/her discipline for assigned project on a regular basis for completeness, overall quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Ensures all drawings within his/her discipline for assigned project have been properly checked and backchecked.
  • Prepares and/or directs the preparation of final drawing plots and copies for transmittal relative to all project deliverables.
  • Possesses an awareness of project schedule and budget.
  • Assists with Project Audits when required.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 5 - 20 years of working experience.
  • Experience in "Lead" project role; mentoring, delegation.
  • Understands facilities drawings, cable routing, details, cable tray routing, cable schedules, motor starter schematics,  I/O list, panel design, wiring diagrams and schematics.

Experience Preferred:

  • Associates degree in CAD
  • Previous O & G experience
