Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer for a Lake Charles onsite position.

Position Type: Full-time

Location: Lake Charles, LA

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Onsite facility

Travel Requirements: Regular site visits are required.

Essential Functions:

  • Obtain an understanding of basic instrument design, low voltage applications, construction, and operating principles.
  • Knowledgeable of machine monitoring, design, application, and protection systems.
  • Familiarize with rotodynamic principles and analysis within scope.
  • Conduct machinery performance examinations including compressor/pump efficiency evaluations, vibration, and hydraulic analyses. 
  • Provide and approve design calculations, drawings, and quality control documents.
  • Prepare engineering specifications, data sheets, inspecting, and testing plans for required equipment. 
  • Investigate potential equipment problems and perform modifications to aid in the project scope.
  • Serve as a resource to supervise, aid, and recommend solutions to maintenance groups.
  • Review suppliers' proposals and develop technical evaluations.
  • Oversee testing and pre-shipment inspections of equipment in manufacturing facilities. 
  • Follow national codes and standards such as API, ANSI, and ASME.
  • Support promoting client safety efforts and protocols onsite.
  • Participate in plant operability and hazard reviews in regard to the rotating equipment.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 7+ years of experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or equivalent industrial machinery design, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

Experience Preferred:

  • P.E. or EIT License.
