The Job

Concrete Superintendents at CL Construction are critical to the success of the Concrete Team, and must be focused, driven, motivated and have the ability to understand the full scope of each project.

• Be the on-site POC for the Team, customers, and subcontractors.
• Oversee the work, help when needed, monitor progress, budgets, and quality every day.
• Read and understand the prints, ensure the specs are met, and the customer is satisfied.
• Walk the site, alone, with customers or QCs to monitor adherence to specs and overall project quality.
• Live and breathe safety. We go home to our families in the same condition we left our families every day.  
• Work well with others, learn when you can and teach when you know.
• Develop your Team with training, mentorship, and delegation of tasks.
• Manage performance, behavior, attendance, safety compliance & keep the job site clean.

The Knowledge & Skill

This position requires a combination of skills, physical abilities, and experience that support on-site work, behind-the-scenes planning, budgeting, and managing relationships.

• Concrete industry experience is necessary, 5 years total; 2-3 in a supervisory capacity is great.
• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management preferred. 
• Know the tools: prints, budgets, timelines, labor management, and the physical tools too.
• Anticipate challenges, problem solve, make good decisions, & leverage strengths on your Team.
• Build and maintain relationships of all kinds and be the example for effective communication.
• Have a TEAM, train, develop, coach, encourage, discipline, and motivate everyone.
• Possess the physical aptitude for on-site work, including all concrete laborer tasks.
• Have a valid driver’s license, the ability to travel in and out of state; bonus if you can pull a trailer.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and be at least 18 years old.
• All weather, loud, noisy, dusty environments and heights are part of the job, including harnesses.
