ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals?  Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

  • Utilize computer languages (such as R, Python, SQL) to process data efficiently for statistical and graphical analysis, including writing new scripts and editing existing ones;
  • Interpret and summarize data analyses and conclusions in a methodological manner, supported by charts, tables, and graphs;
  • Evaluate chemical data and contaminant fate & transport;
  • Conduct fieldwork, including soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, construction quality assurance and oversight, and remediation system operation and maintenance; and
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients to support engineering and environmental projects through reports and presentations. and presentations.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, CPR, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants. 
  • Fieldwork: Up to 60%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 30%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology, environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or related field. (preferred)
  • Geologist in Training (GIT) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, if applicable. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of related experience. (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. (required)
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds. (required)
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python programming languages. (required)
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed for project work. (required)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. (preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. (preferred)
  • Prior experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro and/or Microsoft Access. (preferred) 
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
